About This Place

Nestled conveniently on the bustling Las Vegas Strip, Coronado Cafe is a beloved American restaurant and café that masterfully blends classic “Old Vegas” charm with a diverse menu that satisfies every palate. Known for its warm, inviting atmosphere and attentive service, this local favorite offers an authentic dining experience steeped in nostalgic vibes, making every visit feel like a comforting step back in time.

The menu is an impressive showcase of hearty American staples alongside a surprising yet delightful selection of Chinese-inspired dishes, reflecting a unique culinary fusion that adds a memorable twist to your meal. Standout items such as the Prime Rib Special deliver tender, succulent slices of perfectly cooked beef that melt in your mouth, while the Old Vegas Style Bay Shrimp Cocktail offers a refreshing start — plump, chilled shrimp nestled on shredded lettuce with tangy cocktail sauce for a true taste of vintage Vegas.

For those hungry for more variety, the Mongolian Beef and Pad Thai bring bold and savory Asian flavors, while traditional all-American classics like the Cheeseburger and Fries and Porterhouse Steak Special satiate cravings for comfort food done right. Breakfast enthusiasts will appreciate expertly crafted dishes such as Huevos Rancheros and the nutritious Acai Bowl, artfully topped with fresh bananas and granola.

What truly elevates the Coronado Cafe experience is not just the menu, but the heartfelt hospitality. Diners repeatedly praise the staff's attentiveness — from swift drink refills to accommodating large parties and family-friendly service, as noted by MJ L who called out the accommodating nature towards their group and the kid-friendly environment. Miya Stafford’s enthusiasm for the “amazing staff” and “old school vibes” resonates with many visitors, including Arnel Deleon, who has cherished this spot for decades due to its consistent quality and welcoming atmosphere.

The value here is equally compelling; guests like C. Troupe highlight impressive full meals — a generous salad, prime rib, mashed potatoes, and a drink, all for under $30. Coupled with daily specials priced at $13.95 and the after-hours prime rib or porterhouse steak offer at $22.95, Coronado Cafe stands out as an exceptional choice for a satisfying meal that won’t strain your wallet. Don’t miss the opportunity to unwind with a $5 glass of wine, rounding out a truly classic Vegas experience.

In essence, Coronado Cafe is more than just a restaurant—it’s a welcoming refuge where the rich flavors of American and Chinese cuisine come alive in a timeless setting. Whether you’re craving a hearty steak, a savory shrimp cocktail, or a comforting dish from its expansive menu, this café delivers genuine hospitality and delicious food with an irresistible Old Vegas flair. I stopped in solo to get some prime rib. Service was great. If I asked for A1 Sauce or any item staff got it right away. I didn’t have to wait long at all for my meal. It wasn’t crowded for a Saturday night. Salad, Prime Rib, Mash Potatoes, a drink and dinner roll all came out under $30 total.

Both the food and service was really amazing. We had a big group with us and they were very accommodating. Kid friendly too. We will be back. Favorite dishes were the pot stickers, orange chicken, chimichurri salad, and general chicken. They have a unique blend of American and Chinese dishes.

We have been coming here for years. The service is always fantastic here, but sometimes there can be a long wait to get in. Food is good, with a good price point for Vegas. They have 2 daily specials each day for $13.95, amazing graveyard specials, and after prime rib/ porterhouse special for $22.95. You can even grab a $5 glass of wine. The menu is huge. They even have a seperate Chinese menu. There really is something for everyone. It's a great place for large groups. No reservations are taken. Its all first come first serve. They have tables, lots of booths, and counter seating.

Always an excellent decision. Been coming here for decades, since their steak and eggs special was only $5! These days even with inflation priced in, it's a great value. Friendly and hard working staff. Delicious food and overall relaxing place. Worth the visit for sure when in Vegas.

As soon as we checked in to our room at the Souhtpoint casino, we went downstairs to the Coronado cafe and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. Had their famous shrimp cocktail and tasty cadillac margarita. The large shrimp hit the spot. We also ordered some pork potstickers, they were nicely well done and perfectly crisp. The Coronado cafe is open 24 hours, so it’s very convenient.
